Today Sgt Skhor came by my table. I like how he asks to do things in a simple, straightforward direction albeit missing context as I had no idea that I would be chasing down four animated corpses, two ghouls, and some idiotic mage… Wait, idiot. Idiot? Oh, THAT’s the man on the poster, the one Farmer Holmswell kept saying was being called an idiot! Huh… that puts a new twist on things.
Anyway, so today I, Skhor, Bartek, and Dumay went to the north side of town to discover that this – idiot – had clearly been up to no good. We found him out in the cave guarded by four corpses and two ghouls trying to create some kind of Simacrulum. We were able to dispatch the guardians but Idiot got away. Hm. Curious that word – Idion – one stupified by the moon. I should be careful with that word because it precisely my own musings over star constellations that had me so enamored that I didn’t see the poster picturing the visage of exactly this man on the doorframe of the Boar’s Head Tavern – else I might have to attach this descriptive to myself.
I wonder if there is some connection between this Idiot and Zep’s nemesis. The last time I talked with Zep he brushed me aside in yet another of his drunken stupors. I know what happened to poor Zep’s family, hunted by some evil necromancer. Yet I do not understand why Zep insists upon avoiding his past or his connection to his bloodline.
Sadly, I have to wash my hands of poor Zep, at least for now. Unfortunately, however, his past may not be something anyone can avoid as it may well have followed him her if my suspicions are correct.
