Went into forest with Rumor and Karth. Came accross Spider beings 6ft in height. Could speak in Elvish, write ancient dwarven runes and could use 12 appendages for sign language (need to find language resources). Was not hostile, but upset over lantern causing possible forest fire (mentioned “do not burn trees”). Was confused over my speaking of Elvish, likely for being human, and possibly considered me food. Tried to serve food and found non truly appealing (berries were unnacceptable, jerky was too salty, hard tack was “almost” food).

Should look into non flammable light sources for future excursions.

Need to get tree sap regardless.
