Back to the Grind
The next day I was fully recovered from the ghoul cave adventure two days ago. So, I gathered the crew and planed another raid into the ghoul cave. When I meet up with Pip it seems she has found a group of fellow adventures and that on our rest day she took them to the ghoul cave. They encountered some advance intelligence ghouls in armor. I felt a little betrayed by Pip, she knew I wanted to clear out the ghouls and with her little snide comments she has said about me including her comments about the “better” way into the caves. I felt like maybe I was overbearing and dominated the group’s choices. But, the rambling sometimes scattered thoughts of Pip is just bothering me. There were two new people an elf Rumor and a dwarf called Karst. The elf seems like she is of high breading, noble, but she is able to create fantastic magic that seen to rip the fabric of space. The Dwarf is THE MAN. I think me is a barbarian that calls on the strength of his ancestry. We mapped into the cave area using “Pippy’s new entrance”. We saw the fight the group had with the ghouls and I took their heads for bounty. We wind around and stared down a long incline Zep lost his balance and started sliding down the incline. I followed him in a control slide into the darkness. After my rest, I found I could see in the dark. I did not want my friend, Zep to slide into an encounter in the dark and not have back-up. As we continued to slide, I saw the end of the path which suddenly ended in a drop-off. I began to slow and prepared to stop when I saw roots and vines bursting out of the rocks at the end of the path. I grabbed for them at the same time Zep became entangled in them. The roots also entangled me as I grabbed them, look like this was a Pippy’s spell. Which she acted like Zep and I were fools and she saved us. Below the end of the path were two ghouls impaled on stalagmites dyeing, and an armored advance ghoul at the side. I cast my hunters mark and began firing arrows at the advance ghoul. I put a little hurt into him as he fled down a passage. I took out my pitons and began to set a repelling rope. I was furious, a little of Pip’s actions two days ago, going back to the caves without me, and her acting like I’m a fool. I was intent on killing the advance ghoul. As I hooked up the rope; the pleading from the rest of the group with what is a very bad tactical choice I was making became clear at which withdrew from my advance. We moved back up the incline and moved around the cave passages which we had not been as we came upon a set of ghouls. We worked well as a group and killed the ghouls with little difficulty. We continued around the cave passage when again we entered another battle this time with two ghouls and an advance ghoul. We battled the ghouls well this was a more difficult battle. Pip healed he during the battle with her spells. She then entered the battle as a large cat, puma, I think. Karst was hurt, Zep was injured, I was the healthiest among us. I began to insult the advance ghoul trying to attract his attack. Karst ancestry seemed to be protecting me making it difficult for the advance ghoul to hit me. But in the end, he bit me and the group set the last blow into him, I think it was Dume’ or Rumor maybe Zep. The bit became infected. -
